How You Walk Through It

I never thought I’d find myself in this position.
This injury hit me without warning. In an instant, my daily routine, my commute, my independence, my plans for the summer with Family- everything was put on hold. I know there’s a story here, but sometimes I wonder who would want to hear it.
The days have been slower, with more time to sit, think, and heal. I’ve tried not to overthink things. The pain that once consumed every moment now feels like a distant memory. Those long days of anguish are beginning to fade.
The hardest part was seeing the damage for the first time. It was impossible to ignore. My foot looked like it belonged to someone else, with the tendon exposed and a reality I couldn’t look away from.
Nothing can truly prepare you for something like that.
But injuries, setbacks, and unexpected challenges have a way of teaching us something. Not about what happened to us, but about how we respond. How we carry ourselves when life forces us to slow down. How we move forward when the road ahead looks different than we imagined.
You can’t always control what happens to you.
But how you walk through it.
That’s what defines you.

Glad to read a new post. Also I'm happy you got to slow down the flow to take a mental inventory of yourself. Even though it almost cost ya a foot. Keep digging brother!
